My Story
I was born in the capital of the United States, Washington DC. This is the place where I spend most of my life. At a young age, I left home for boarding school and completed my college, from Boulder, Colorado.
I traveled to many places and enjoyed a life of travel, exploring various parts of the world. I always found myself drawn to mountainous regions. I have a special connection with Colorado & Kashmir (both places being situated in the hills).
I traveled to India with my father when I was in grade school. This was my first visit to Kashmir, and I was mesmerized by the beauty of the place. We explore the valley and its market. Being curious to learn about the place, people, and culture. I would always end up being in the mood to buy some scarves (and a few scars) for my mother.
In 2004, I joined a congressional delegation to do the quote for the US-India nuclear deal in India. This was significant for me as I had a chance to visit Kashmir (which I have been visiting since childhood). On this trip, I discovered a jacket made from pure pashmina and fell in love with it. I kept it in my closet for decades. This inspired me to find a way to make clothing from Pashmina.
I came to India for treatment because of Parkinson’s disease.
I came here, knowing that I was going to search from Kashmir all the way down to Kanyakumari and other parts of India. To find someone who would be able to take care of my desire to make clothing out of this terrific fabric.
Well, my dreams come true.
I checked into a hotel in Mumbai and talked to the concierge. Explained to them what I wanted- a bespoke pashmina wardrobe. So, these guys that I met are absolutely the nicest most incredible people I’ve met in my life traveling ever. Not only they were able to start making my clothing but made exactly what I wanted.
The tracks are made of this terrific fabric. You feel and look cool, and you think of buying it. It’s a process all custom done and it’s amazing beyond amazing. Every item is unique and cannot be fabricated. The fabric needs to be respected back to the goats and the villagers. Who has been taking care
of this old program and has been doing it for thousands of years?

I got motivated when I realized how these villagers were under attack by Pakistan any day or night. Work so hard to make these products.
Being a Washingtonian and being in Mumbai and having all these opportunities seemingly too good to be true but it became true and now we’re actually making these products.
